Wright Tanks manufacture a variety of concrete water tanks, and previously they manufactured them with disposable formwork. We designed a reusable steel form for them, which as well as saving formwork materials cost allows them to make tanks at a much quicker rate. Pneumatic vibrators are bolted on to the frame during pouring to eliminate air bubbles. After the concrete cures the two halves are loosened using a hose port in the bottom of the mould, after which it can be lifted out with a crane. We also designed a 10m wide gantry crane to go with the moulds.
