MJ Custom Engineering were contracted to manufacture and install stainless steel piping and monitoring equipment for the treatment of wastewater produced by fonterra's factory in Palmerston North. Wastewater is pumped from storage tanks to a Dissolved Air Flotation device, which separates out the solids. The water is then passed through tanks which neutralise the pH and make it into a state suitable for trade waste. All of the piping runs were manufactured and tested at our premises before being transported and installed on-site. This allowed us to complete the job quicker and with less disruption to Fonterra's activities than fabricating on-site. A complete as-built CAD model was drawn up from site measurements, which made it easy to identify clashes in the design stage, rather than during installation.
