A large portion of Stringfellows' work is laying pipes underground. We were asked to manufacture a trench shield system to protect their workers from cave-ins when working in trenches. The shields were designed to be modular and stackable, and the width adjustable to suit different sized trenches. The panels lock together with pins and can be assembled in an appropriate configuration above ground, before lifting the whole unit into the trench with a crane.
